The world’s largest optical telescope is under construction in the North of Chile The European Southern Observatory named it "E-ELT" or European Extremely Large Telescope.Iit will take 10 years to build and almost 4 times larger than the largest telescope at present which is the Spanish Gran Telescopio Canarias (GTC).
E-ELT will explore the deep universe and focus to study new details about how stars, galaxies and planets are formed. The E-ELT will give images 15 times sharper than those of Hubble. It will closely examine distant planets in the search for extraterrestrial life.
